Where:
Minneapolis Washburn High School
What is WALA?
Our philosophy is based on the question: “What advice would you give to your younger self?”
We offer a seven-week program that includes strength, conditioning, and leadership/life skills development training led by a well qualified, informed and invested team staff. Our goal is to provide a high level training environment with proper leadership for young adults to thrive in. We are providing the space to allow for natural mental, physical and spiritual development of any individual that is a part of our program in hopes of implementing a growth-mindset for said individuals as soon as possible.
There will be a large emphasis on athletic development through strength and conditioning training as well as a large emphasis on leadership/life skills development through a growth-mindset based curriculum, group projects, journaling, speakers and field study experiences. As a staff we are focused on helping to develop the whole person and not just the athlete by always keeping the question “What advice would you give to your younger self?” at the forefront of everything we do and every interaction we have with any young-adult that is a part of the program.
